Good bye Sausages

I'm lying in bed with the last of our sausage dogs. Doppies is the last. He is struggling to breathe, his hind legs aren't functioning anymore. Babihe went before him. I never wrote about my black bitch.

They were both the most lovable dogs. Not the brightest, but all they wanted was to be in the presence of man.

In a few hours I have to wake up and end the suffering of our last one.

We have three other dogs and two cats.

In all the years I've had pets, I'd always understand when it was their time to go.

I believe in ending pain. I believe that we humans have to take care of our animals and that we have more power over them than they themselves have, and the responsibility lies with us to ensure their happiness and well-being.

This is not the first time that I have to take a pet to its final destination, and it won't be the last, but it is always done with love, and its never easy.

So, with all my heart, I want Doppies' suffering to end.

He's in my bed tonight, not outside with rain and thunder, but in a warm bed and a heavy heart next to him.

Thank you for being my pet, and for being who you are.

You will be missed, along with all the other departed.
